Erica Honey (MBAMHRM MEmergMgt BSc (Hons) Grad Cert PDev RVN).
I have been working in the veterinary sector for over 20 years, firstly in private practice as a nurse, then in emergency and critical care for 14 years, leading and managing in a State teaching veterinary hospital. During this time, I also worked in Animal Emergency Management, working in animal emergency planning across sectors, combining my deep knowledge of veterinary and emergency management to create my niche. I have also lectured at tertiary institutions on health management, leadership, and people and culture, with a focus on emotional and cultural intelligence, equity, diversity and inclusion. I am a trained and experienced Ally and aim to create safe and inclusive spaces for every person.
Erica Honey Consulting was founded in 2021 from a clear recognition: the veterinary sector needs resilience and sustainability through a better triple bottom line, which prioritises the well-being of people and animals. I envision a veterinary world where people are deeply connected to their purpose, inspired to collaborate safely for their just cause, and empowered to build resilience for people and animals through contextualised care. A new generation of workplaces where veterinary professionals can sustainably love what they do and are supported to achieve mastery.
This is achieved through:
Effective, people-centric leadership that inspires and guides.
Healthy and functional culture where everyone thrives.
Robust veterinary disaster preparedness that ensures continuity and safety.
I’m here to help you create a hospital where your team can do their best work, supported by effective people-first leadership and a thriving culture, working well with complexity, and ready for whatever comes next.
Building a resilient and sustainable veterinary community.
